Culture, community, & conservation converge in Siesta Valley
About Us

Located in the Berkeley-Orinda Hills 20 minutes from San Francisco, Siesta Valley is home to the former Cal Shakes and Bruns Amphitheater

Home for Good
Siesta Valley is a place where the natural environment, the East Bay community, and the vibrancy of the performing arts meet.
Culture
Live music, theater, film, and dance that reflect the diversity of California’s communities.
Conservation
Stewardship projects that reduce fire risk, restore habitat, and protect water quality, while teaching the next generation about the watershed.
Community
Public play and gathering spaces, educational workshops, and access to cultural programming for East Bay residents.
Economic Sustainability
A Model That Works.

We’re building on a tradition of cultural landmarks that thrive as public–private partnerships — from the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles to the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival to the Polonsky Shakespeare Center in NYC. Like these beloved institutions, the Siesta Valley Foundation is working with EBMUD, public stakeholders, and mission-aligned operators to create a vibrant, sustainable hub that honors the watershed while amplifying diverse voices and shared experiences.
